Erich Henry Kuballis my name.  Born in North Dakota on February 12, 1965, I lived the first part of my life on a small farm in Erie, just northwest of Fargo about 40 miles.  At age 6, I moved to Arizona just a few miles north of the border with Mexico in sunny Rio Rico.   There I attended Calabasas School and Sahuarita High School.  After graduating high school in 1983, I attended Arizona State University for a year and a half in Tempe and finished my Bachelor's degree in Secondary Education at the University of Arizona in Tucson, May of 1988.

My first teaching job was teaching math and computer programming on the Navajo Reservation in Fort Defiance Arizona.  I taught there for 7 years, while actively involved the experiential learning organization of Na'ata'ani Trails,  involved in teaching college courses at Navajo Community College, as well as obtaining a Master's degree in Counselor Education at Western New Mexico University.

After obtaining the Counselor degree, I moved on to teach and counsel for the Kuspuk School District in Aniak Alaska on the Kuskokwim River, east of Bethel and west of Anchorage.  Since I've moved to Alaska, I discovered the awesome winter life, learned to hunt, and discovered the thrill of snowmachining.  Alaska has become my home.

Hobbies include cycling, snowmachining, cross country skiing, kayaking, hiking and world travel.  Occasionally I can flip a canoe or a snowmachine.  I've been in 40 US states and 24 countries.  My taste for cycling was traveling 80 days in Europe with my friend Marc.  My passion for it came 8 years later.  Although, my knees have gotten a bit worse during the bike trip, I still can't think of a better way to spend my summer.
